Directions

Do not take Elavil with the following drugs: MAO inhibitors (Furazolidone, Isocarboxazid, Linezolid, Moclobemide Tranylcypromine); anti-arrhythmics (Propafenone, Quinidine, etc); selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (Citalopram, Dapoxetine, Fluoxetine, Fluvoxamine, Paroxetine, etc); neuroleptics; H2-receptor antagonists (Cimetidine, Ranitidine, Famotidine, Nizatidine, etc).Nicotine decreases blood levels of this medication, so you should inform your doctor if you smoke or if you have recently stopped smoking.
Don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice during treatment with this medicine.

Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time of the next intake just skip it and go back to your schedule. Don't exceed your dose or take it twice.
Overdose
If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help immediately. The overdose symptoms are chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feeling light-headed or fainting.
Storage
Store the medicine at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep all drugs away from reach of children and pets.
